Powering the clock
The clock has a standard UK Plug, this will need to be plugged in and powered on continuously. If the clock has no power, users will not be able to clock in or out, and the device may eventually lose track of the Time & Date.
Connecting the clock to your network
To be able to retrieve data from the clocking machine over the network, the clock must be plugged into your network using an ethernet Cable. The ethernet cable should be connected to your network and not your computer.
Employees can clock in and out without it being connected to the network, but it will lose the following capabilities:
- Automatically setting the time on the clocking machine to the same time that is on your computer.
- The ability to collect data at the click of a button.
Obtaining your PC or Server IP Address
You need some information from you PC or Server (whichever place you will install and run the software from) to enter into the clock. So jump onto the PC or Server and follow these instructions:
- First, open the Start menu on your computer. You can do this by clicking the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen, or by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
- Once the Start menu is open, type "Command Prompt" into the search bar at the bottom. You should see an option for Command Prompt appear in the search results.
- Click on the Command Prompt option to open it. A black window with white text should appear on your screen.
- Now, you need to find out which network adapter your computer is using to connect to the internet. To do this, type the following command into the Command Prompt window: ipconfig
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard. You should see a bunch of information appear in the Command Prompt window.
- Look for the line that says "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" or "Ethernet adapter Ethernet" (depending on how you're connecting to the internet). The IP address listed next to this line is your computer's internal IP address. It usually will start with 192.168 or 10.
- Write down or remember the IP address that you found.
Mounting your Clocking Machine to The Wall
We strongly advise that you mount your clock on a level wall before attempting to enrol anyone. You should choose a position that is not affected by great variations in lighting or direct sunlight on the screen. You will receive a bag with 4 screws, 4 wall plugs and 2 small mounting screws.
- Mount the backplate on the wall using the 4 screws provided (around 140 cm from the floor is normal).
- Plug in both the Power Cable and Ethernet Cable.
- Put the clocking machine on the wall plate and tighten the two screws from the bottom.
- Ensure that the Clocking Machine is fixed in securely.
Enrolling an Administrator
To check or modify settings you must be logged in as an Administrator. There is already an Admin Supervisor set up on the clock with a default password of 7856. We would strongly urge you keep this password as a backup and to enrol at least one other Administrator with Face id and an additional password. To do this please follow the instructions below:
- Tap the screen if it is asleep and then in the bottom right corner tap ≡
- Next tap on 'Admin' and the 'Admin login' box will appear.
- At the bottom of this box tap the option 'Switch Method'
- On the 'Input Password' screen please enter 7856 and tap OK.
- Tap on 'Admin Setting' and then on 'Enrol Admin'.
- Next tap on 'Enrol Face' and then look into the circled area, adjusting your position if necessary.
- When successful a screen will appear with your picture and some boxes to fill in.
- Tap on 'Input User Name' and fill in your name (pressing shift twice will change to letters) and tap OK.
- After that choose and type in a 6 digit password and tap OK.
- Retype the password followed by OK
- Finally tap the top left back button three time to return to the home screen.
Logging in as an Administrator
As soon as you have enrolled as an Administrator you can log into the terminal quickly. To access the menu system you must log in as Admin. Just follow these steps:
- Tap the screen if it is asleep and then in the bottom right corner tap ≡
- Next tap on 'Admin' and an 'Admin login' box will appear.
- Look into the circled area, adjusting your position if necessary to bring up the main list menu
Adding the Server IP Address to the clock
You need to know the PC or Server IP Address to be able to connect to it from your computer and to be able to download data, so hopefully you have followed that step, If not go back to that section. You will also need to be logged in as an Administrator on the clock to access any settings so ensure you have followed the steps in those sections first.
- From the List Setting menu tap 'System Settings'.
- Followed by 'Communication'.
- Next tap 'Server Setting'.
- Finally tap the box to the right of the 'Server IP to open a separate box.
- Type in the IP address that you got from your PC or Server & tap 'OK'
- Tap back arrow 3 times to return to the List Setting menu.
Enrolling an Employee
You will need to be logged in as an Administrator to access any settings so ensure you have followed the steps in those sections first. To Enrol your first user just follow these steps:
- From the List Setting menu tap 'User Management'.
- Next tap 'User Management'.
- Tap 'Enrol User'.
- After this tap on the 'Face' and ask the employee to look into the circled area, adjusting their position as necessary.
- Fill in the Name in the top box (if the box is not fully visible you can tap just below to show full screen). Tip: If you have many employees to enrol you can speed up the process by using a number, such as their payroll number or even the same letter or number for each one such as just '1'. The next step will signify the unique user ID.
- Next tap in the 'Input User ID' box and fill this in with a user number which will be referred to in the software.
- Tap on the word 'Face' below and then tap 'Confirm' in the top right.
- Repeat steps 3 to 7 for all staff.
- Press the top left back button twice to return to the home screen.
Clocking Machine is now configured
