Running Reports in InfoTime

Introduction

InfoTime offers multiple options for accessing reports, including the ability to receive them via email or to download them directly. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to add a report to the queue and retrieve it once it's ready for viewing.

Step 1 - Navigating to Reports

To begin, you'll need to locate the list of reports in InfoTime software. This can be found in the Main Menu of the Software.


Simply hover your cursor over the Reports menu option, and a drop-down list of available reports will be displayed.

Step 2 - Select the report you want to run

In the reports section, you'll be able to see a list of available reports. You'll need to select the specific report you want to run.



Step 3 - Fill in the required details

Many reports in InfoTime require specific parameters to be entered before the data can be generated. In the following example, we will demonstrate how to run the Employee Timesheet - Custom Date Range report.


Please note that the parameters required may differ depending on the report you wish to generate.

 


Step 4 - Adding the report to the queue

Generating reports in InfoTime can take a some amount of time, particularly when dealing with large data sets. To avoid having to wait for the report to generate, InfoTime operates by adding report requests to a queue.


Once the report is ready, you will receive a notification on your dashboard. This means you don't have to remain on the report generation page and can continue with other tasks while the report is being generated.


Step 5 - Checking the New Report Notification

To check whether your report is ready, simply navigate to the Dashboard section of the InfoTime Software. If there are reports available for viewing, you will see an entry on the left-hand side labeled 'New Reports: X'. The number X represents the quantity of unviewed reports that are ready to be accessed.


To view the list of available reports, simply click on the number displayed. We have highlighted this option in the screenshot below for your reference:

 

Step 6 - Saving the report

After navigating to the "All Reports" screen, you will notice an "Action" tab that includes a button resembling an eye or download icon. This button is highlighted in red in the screenshot provided.


Clicking on either the view or download button will allow you to access the report in the desired format. Selecting the view option will enable you to view the report on your screen, while selecting the download option will prompt you to save the report to your computer. Once downloaded, you can save the report to your local drive for future reference.
